I'm a local media preservation specialist based in the Pocono area. ReMemories started because I believe your family's memories deserve better than a warehouse conveyor belt.

I handle every transfer personally — from VHS tapes and Betamax to 8mm film reels — using a professional-grade signal chain that most mail-in services don't bother with. That means less jitter, cleaner image, and better color on your final files.

I also recover data from old computers and hard drives, transfer photos and videos from old flip phones, and handle high-volume photo scanning for families and estates. If it holds a memory, I can probably recover it.

Do I have to mail my tapes in?
No — and that's the biggest advantage of working with ReMemories. Drop-off and pickup are both local, so your irreplaceable media never has to get shipped to a warehouse in another state. That said, if mailing is more convenient for you (out-of-area customers, busy schedule, etc.), we can absolutely arrange that — just reach out and we'll work it out.
How do I receive my files?
Your choice: free cloud download link, USB drive we supply (+$12), or DVD (+$8). For large estate-size orders we can also transfer everything to an external hard drive.
How long does it take?
A single tape is typically ready in 1–2 days. Larger orders — like 1,000 photos or a box full of tapes — may take 1–2 weeks. Rush service is available for +$20.
Why not just use Legacybox or Kodak?
Those services mail your tapes to a processing facility and run them through automated pipelines with minimal human oversight. There are countless reports of sync issues, lost tapes, cut-off footage, and wrong items returned. And by the time you add their shipping fees, thumb drive charges, and processing costs, you're often at $35–40 per tape anyway — for factory quality. ReMemories gives you local, monitored, professional transfers for a comparable price, and your media never leaves the area.
What formats do you handle?
VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, MiniDV, Betamax, 8mm film reels, cassette tapes, photo prints, slides, negatives, old flip phones, and harddrive/computer data recovery.
Can you recover data from a failing hard drive?
Yes, up to a point. We handle corrupted drives and logical failures well. Drives with severe physical damage (clicking, grinding, head crashes) may need referral to a specialist lab — we'll always tell you upfront before any charges.
Do you handle large estate or bulk collections?
Absolutely. Just reach out first so we can give you an accurate timeline and bulk pricing. Orders of 10+ items automatically receive a 10% discount.
